Man City and Chelsea vying for signature of Milan star Leao

Manchester City and Chelsea are reportedly vying for the signature of AC Milan star Rafael Leao in the January transfer window.

Leao’s light in Milan is getting brighter as his performance continues to climb. The slick performance of the 23-year-old has attracted interest from top European clubs to get him.

Leao scored 11 goals in the Italian League last season and played a big role in the Rossoneri’s success in winning the Italian League trophy. His impressive performance was rewarded with the title of Best Italian League Player for the 2021/2022 season.

In this season, Leao can maintain his game at the top level. He has provided six goals and nine assists from 17 appearances in the Italian League and Champions League.

Milan has set the price for the player. The fashion city team reportedly priced Leao with a transfer value of £105 million or equivalent to Rp1.8 trillion.

Reporting from the Daily Mail, Chelsea have shown an interest in signing Leao since the transfer market earlier this season. The West London side will again look to sign Leao by including Armado Broja, Christian Pulisic or Hakim Ziyech as part of a deal to reduce transfer fees.

Meanwhile, Man City are interested in Leao to find a replacement for Raheem Sterling, who moved to Chelsea earlier this season. Apart from these two teams, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested in Leao.

Even though they have set a price tag for Leao for interested clubs, Milan will still try to keep the former Lille player from going anywhere by offering a long-term contract.
